Le Temps Des Cerises is a boutique hotel located directly on St. Martin’s Grand Case beach. The hotel, with nine rooms offering panoramic views of the Caribbean sea, offers a high end Caribbean vibe. You are sure to feel relaxed by this serene, lounge-style environment. This boutique hotel is located in Grand Case, one of St. Martin’s most popular restaurant neighborhoods. Unlike my last post, Sky’s the Limit, this restaurant is a bit of a farther drive down the main road. I came to Grand Case many times without ever knowing this place even existed. Surprisingly, I was able to find a vegan item on their menu. Can you guess what it is? Enjoy this Le Temps Des Cerises vegan review!
Le Temps Des Cerises
There is a cafe restaurant attached to this boutique hotel, open both to guests of the hotel and not. The chef has created a menu inspired by modern French cuisine with a twist. This twist is using local flavors for inspiration and fresh local ingredients. The menu consists mostly of seafood and meat, but there are some veggie options.
The restaurant itself is very stylish. The interior design almost reminds me of some cafes I’ve visited in Bali. There is a nice cafe style area where you can find people having lunch, but also a great place to do some work. Then, there is a bar area that looks directly over the ocean. This is a great place to come and watch the sunset with a cocktail. The cocktails here are phenomenal. With lots of instagram worthy places to take pics inside, you’ll be sure to have a great time getting a great pic.
Pricing at LTC is definitely on the high side, with appetizers around 18 euros and entrees around 25 euros. The restaurant also offers beach chair and umbrella rentals. PRO TIP: If you request to have lunch on the beach, they will include the beach chairs complimentary. So if you come for lunch, be sure not to pay extra for the chairs. You can have a great lunch on the beach and then spend the rest of the day swimming and soaking up that gorgeous Caribbean sun.
Vegan and Vegetarian Options
Le Temps Des Cerises vegan and vegetarian options are few and far between. I was glad to be able to find something nice to eat. Plant-based food options at restaurants in the Caribbean can be pretty hit or miss. With a culture so engrained in the sea, seafood is obviously a big part of their culture. The food at LTC definitely gave me more a French vibe than a Caribbean one. Offering both breakfast, lunch and dinner, I only had lunch here.
The plant-based options come in two forms: a salad and an appetizer. The appetizer is vegetarian spring rolls, filled with avocado, carrot, onion, seaweed, apple, lemon, mint and soy. I did not get these because they were 18 euros. That’s a bit too expensive for an appetizer on this day. Since I did not order this, I did not ask if they were vegan or just vegetarian. If you go and end up getting these, let me know which they were!
For my meal, I got their Caribbean salad. This tropical vegetarian salad consisted of tomato, avocado, cucumber, mango, orange, grapefruit and mango vinaigrette. As far as I know, this salad is vegan. There were no ingredients that would have animal products. This salad was also 18 euros but a very large and beautiful salad. To be honest, this salad was the perfect lunch to have on the beach on a hot day like this. Although the price was a bit high or what you get, I could justify the price because it also included my beach chair rental for the entire day. Everything tasted super fresh, refreshing and local!
Overall, I really enjoyed my day at Le Temps Des Cerises. Cocktails are served strong and delicious. The hotel has a super fun and chill environment. You can be sure that you’ll be relaxed after a day here. I can only imagine staying at the hotel would be amazing. The hotel also has a boutique shop, with LTC branded clothing, accessories and more. Whether you are coming for a quick cocktail, a meal, or staying at the hotel, you can be sure to have a great experience at Le Temps Des Cerises vegan.
