Sky’s the Limit is a food stand located in Grand Case town on the beautiful Caribbean island of St. Martin. This restaurant is just one of many open air food stalls in a small, food court style eatery. As you walk past, you will see people cooking on large grills with some incredible Caribbean flavors. These food options are usually much more affordable and can sometimes provide a much more authentic Caribbean experience. Although these restaurants mostly highlight seafood, I was pleased to be able to find some vegetarian food options. Enjoy this Sky’s The Limit St Martin vegetarian review!
At Sky’s the Limit, you’ll mostly find meat and seafood on the menu. There are approximately six different food stands in this small food court styled set up. After looking at the different menus, Sky’s the Limit was the only place that offered a vegetarian specific food plate. Typically, you pick a meat or seafood item and then several sides depending on how much you’d like. Then they they will make your food fresh right in front of you. The vegetarian plate consisted of what most people would call sides, but I was excited to try some of this more authentic Caribbean food.
The vegetarian platter consisted of rice with peas, potato salad, plantains, and a green salad. This is also served with broccoli, macaroni and cheese, and some spaghetti. All of this cost only 9 euros. I thought this was a great meal at a great price! Everything, and I mean everything, was absolutely delicious! My favorites were the rice with beans, the potato salad, and the mac and cheese.
So, this was a vegetarian platter. I ordered it just as it came. I’m sure that if you wanted it vegan, they would serve you double rice, double spaghetti, and an extra large salad. Obviously, there is dairy in the mac and cheese, cole slaw, and potato salad. I usually try to stick to a vegan diet, but every now and then I’ll have a vegetarian dish like this one. And it was definitely a fantastic meal!
Overall, I highly recommend you check out Sky’s the Limit St Martin. This little stand not only served great food but gives you the real feeling of an authentic St Martin meal. This place is run completely by locals, pouring their heart and soul into making great Caribbean food every single day. While this has a very different vibe to my last restaurant post, this is a great way to see both sides of the area. The restaurant stand area is very easy to find. Just follow the smells of charcoal and sounds of people having a great meal.
